Vintage porcelain op art vase, designed by Beate Kuhn for Rosenthal as part of her Kummet series. Made in Selb, Germany circa 1950s.

Rosenthal Germany marking on base identifying the production era. This bud vase form is referred to as the 'Kummet' (horse collar) style because of its resemblance to a yoke. It is elegant and elongated with two openings. The piece has a high gloss white glaze. A collectible piece of the German Op Art pottery movement.

Beate Kuhn began designing functional modern ceramics for Rosenthal, the internationally renowned porcelain manufacturer in Selb. She is regarded as one of the most important German ceramic artists of the post-WWII era.
