Monica Backström designed many classics for the Swedish glassworks in Boda and Kosta. Some of the most well-known objects are the mushrooms from the 1970s.
In the production, over thirty sculptures of different types and sizes were manufactured. Monica got the idea in connection with a large exhibition that would highlight Swedish Design internationally.
"I wanted to do something quintessentially Swedish with the message that we needed to protect the environment."
The mushrooms were all made of hand-blown clear glass and then rolled in colored glass powder.
Made in Boda, Sweden.
Dimensions: 7” H x 4” Dia.
